Lennox & Addington County Amateur Radio Emergency
Communications (Emcomm) is composed of licensed radio amateurs
who have voluntarily registered to use their qualifications and equipment for public
service communications duty when disaster strikes.
Emcomm groups are called into service by a municipal official in response to a
declared emergency or disaster. The Emcomm program also provides for mutual assistance
to adjacent groups or when an area, district, provincial or national emergency is
At the moment Lennox-Addington is without a dedicated Emcomm
group and currently relies on support from Hastings and Frontenac counties in times of
trouble. Part of the Loyalist District, we are looking for interested volunteers to
help organise an Emcomm group in the county.
Free training is available.
